Giorgio Armani I Will: A New Masculine Pillar
Giorgio Armani I Will arrives in 2026 with considerable expectations attached to its name. This is not another flanker added to an already crowded family. Armani presents it as the beginning of a completely new masculine fragrance pillar, built around determination, inner strength and the wonderfully convenient belief that saying “I will” is the first step towards actually doing something.
The Eau de Parfum was created by master perfumers Alberto Morillas and Nathalie Lorson. Its composition contrasts sparkling Calabrian bergamot and fresh lavender with Madagascar vanilla absolute and a distinctive woody-leather accord. On paper, it sits between aromatic freshness and darker sensuality, which is considerably more interesting than another anonymous blue bottle promising confidence.
A new Armani pillar
Armani describes I Will as a contemporary interpretation of masculinity, one based on resilience and the will to shape one’s own destiny. The motivational language is enthusiastic, but the launch itself is significant. A new pillar asks consumers to learn a completely new name, bottle and olfactory identity rather than relying on the familiarity of Acqua di Giò, Armani Code or Stronger With You.
The name is direct enough to sound like both a declaration and a morning affirmation. I will succeed. I will become the best version of myself. I will absolutely pretend that buying another fragrance was part of the plan.
Visually, the bottle moves from warm golden light at the base into a smoky black gradient. Its cylindrical cap is marked by concentric rings, while the heavy glass construction is designed to be refillable. The result feels deliberately solid and cinematic, particularly in the campaign images, where the bottle appears to have secured both a dramatic sunset and its own screenplay.

The composition
The official structure begins with Calabrian bergamot essence, fresh lavender and a violet-leaf accord. This creates the brighter, aromatic side of the fragrance before the composition moves towards Madagascar vanilla absolute.
Armani specifically presents the vanilla as warm and sensual but stripped of conventional gourmand sweetness. It is paired with woods and leather to create a deeper, smokier effect. The signature element is Woodleather, an exclusive molecule described by the brand as an intense woody-leather accord that amplifies the enveloping depth of the vanilla.
Fragrantica lists cardamom alongside bergamot in the opening, with lavender, violet leaf and sage in the heart, followed by vanilla, leather, woody notes and patchouli. The official Armani page focuses more selectively on bergamot, lavender, violet leaf, Madagascar vanilla and woody leather, so those remain the clearest confirmed landmarks.
Two master perfumers
I Will brings together Alberto Morillas and Nathalie Lorson, both master perfumers at dsm-firmenich. Morillas has shaped modern perfumery through creations including Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò, Calvin Klein CK One, Gucci Bloom and Marc Jacobs Daisy. Lorson’s remarkably broad portfolio includes Lalique Encre Noire, Le Labo Another 13, Mugler Alien Goddess and the co-created YSL Black Opium.
Their names are not decorative credits added after the fact. They help explain the balance proposed here: recognisable freshness, broad wearability and a darker vanilla-leather base intended to leave a distinct signature.
First impressions from the miniature
I received a miniature of I Will in an official Giorgio Armani Beauty press package, so I have been able to smell the fragrance before writing this launch piece. These are brief first impressions, not a full review based on extended wear.
The initial impression is warmer and darker than the bright gold at the bottom of the bottle might suggest. The aromatic freshness is present, but the vanilla and woody-leather effect quickly give the fragrance a smooth, enveloping character. It does not immediately read as a sugary gourmand. Instead, the sweetness feels controlled by the darker texture beneath it.
I need more time on skin before deciding whether this new pillar earns permanent shelf space. For now, it has done enough to make a proper review inevitable, which is already more persuasive than a motivational slogan printed on a bottle.

Formats, refill and longevity claim
I Will Eau de Parfum is available in 10 ml, 30 ml, 60 ml and 100 ml formats. Armani also presents the bottle as refillable, positioning the design as something intended to remain in use rather than be replaced each time it is emptied.
The brand claims up to 24 hours of longevity, based on a consumer test involving 69 men. That is a brand claim, not my own performance assessment. As always, skin, climate and application can produce very different results, and no perfume has yet been appointed universal timekeeper.

Final thoughts
Launching a new masculine pillar in 2026 is a confident move, especially for a house already responsible for several enormously successful men’s lines. I Will does not arrive quietly. It combines a declarative name, a dramatic refillable bottle, two master perfumers and a composition designed to move from aromatic light into dark vanilla and leather.
Whether it becomes the next Armani icon will depend on what happens after the campaign language fades and people begin wearing it. The miniature has given me enough reason to continue testing it. Will I review it properly? I will. Will it join the collection? Linda, let us avoid making commitments before breakfast.
